Tax and Treasury Manager

Location: Minneapolis, MN

Are you looking to take the next step in your finance career? Katun has a wonderful opportunity for someone to expand their finance skillset as a Tax and Treasury Manager.

As a member of our international finance team, this position will be responsible for overseeing the organization’s tax and treasury strategies by monitoring world-wide (WW) tax expense, ensuring tax compliance, managing WW cashflow, forecasting cash/liquidity needs and managing daily treasury functions. The position will also be responsible for leading WW tax research, planning and special projects.

Key Results

• Monitor worldwide tax expense and review annual worldwide tax provision.
• Ensure domestic tax compliance by reviewing federal, state and local income tax returns to assure timely and accurate compliance.
• Work with tax consultants on compliance with transfer pricing rules, including OECD guidelines.
• Stay informed of tax changes and determine the impact of such changes to the company.
• Serve as internal resource by obtaining and sharing tax (sales and use tax, income tax, property tax, payroll tax etc.) knowledge and information to enhance internal customers’ short-term and long-term strategic decision-making and to assure legal requirements are met.
• Manage domestic tax audits by supplying necessary documentation to defend positions taken in the returns and negotiate settlement on proposed adjustments to minimize the financial impact of audits.
• Calculate interim income tax provisions and forecast future income tax provisions to provide accurate information for financial reports, budgets and strategic planning.
• Perform other WW tax planning research projects, work and activities as assigned.
• Manage daily cash position, assisting in all aspects of cash management strategy/banking relationships.
• Manage global cash flow forecasting process.
• Execute FX currency hedging strategy as per analysis with the Vice President, Finance.
• Develop continuous treasury policies and procedure improvement strategies; and optimize bank fees.
• Coordinate WW insurance renewals and related administrative tasks.
• Manage remote Accounts Payable Team

The position is ideal for someone who possesses:

• Bachelor’s degree in Tax, Accounting, Finance or related field
• Minimum of 7 years related tax experience, required
• Thorough knowledge of domestic tax laws and compliance requirements
• Experience in international transfer pricing
• Ability to communicate tax transactions to non-accounting employees
• Excellent organizational skills
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Collaborative problem solver
• Results-oriented, self-motivated and takes personal responsibility
• Ability to work effectively and represent the company’s interest with both internal and external stakeholders

Equipment/Software Utilized

• Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
• ERP – IFS
• Blackline Reconciliation software

Required Certificates, Licenses and Registrations

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Master’s degree in tax
