Katun PSS can calculate printing costs precisely while measuring a customer's needs and defining what cost reduction options are possible.
Used as an evaluation analysis tool, the Katun PSS is an invaluable consulting tool in the sales process. A dealer can install Katun PSS on a customer's print network for a specific timeframe in order to demonstrate the software’s ability to precisely measure the customer’s system performance using the solution's built-in reporting system. Katun PSS can accurately identify which systems are over-, under-, or inefficiently utilized, and this data can be a starting point for making cost-effective adjustments.
Katun research, as well as that of several industry research organizations, has confirmed that end users want to reduce overall supply costs, especially for desktop laser printers – their ultimate goal is cost transparency and control of overall print costs. The total cost per page on desktop laser printers is much higher than on copier engine-based multifunctional devices. By using the Katun PSS's Accounting module, the end user can rely on 100% accurate accounting, thanks to this tool's capability to perform ongoing cost and device usage optimization. Through the PSS module “Continual Processing,” company-wide printer usage policies can be implemented. For example, print jobs above a specific size can be restricted to print only on designated devices. Many different, flexible device usage policies can be applied. The PSS module also supports the functions “Follow 2 Print” and “Secure Print.”
